ADOLPH

There has been much already written and said about Adolph "Bud" Herseth. He has had an amazing career as first trumpet of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Now in his 50th season with that orchestra, he is still upholding the standard he had set for orchestral playing many years ago. What a thrill to hear him leading, what must be, about the best brass section in the world. I met him only once, when he had a master class in Santa Barbara, California. I was happy to hear about his fiftieth anniversary concert celebration. He certainly deserves recognition for his incredible tenure in that orchestra and for the great inspiration he has been to trumpet players around the world.
