Another hero is John Audino- the "Rock of Gibraltar" of the trumpet section. He was one of the
busiest trumpet players in Hollywood. For many years he was lead trumpet on the "Tonight
Show" with Johnny Carson. There aren't too many sessions that go by without some kind of
"Audino story". He was a really great player and such a fun guy to be around. I can remember
sitting next to John on live (to the whole world) shows like the "Grammys" and hearing him
pounding out high Gs - never missing! As I am writing this, I am amazed to realize that it will be
ten years this November since Johnny left us. His power and energy, as well as his enthusiasm for
life will never be forgotten as long as I live.
